Imagine-Nation Art Studios recently released a brand new art series in the “Steampunk/Gothic” collection called “Reaching for the Czars”.
The series is not as steampunk as some of the others in the series have been in the past. It’s not gothic at all but it still brings a lot of meaning contained in the series. The series is about opportunity knocking and our ability to open the door when it comes knocking. In today’s society so many people don’t open the door when it knocks then complains nothing good happens… but you have to get your butt off the couch to seize opportunities.
I’ve been fascinated with the Russian culture and their beautiful outfits. It’s a country that was under communist rule pretty much my entire life and one day the people stood up and made their country a semi democratic country. They went through hell for a while but it eventually got better. That’s why I decided to make the person Russian.
What you see in this series is a woman who is leaving home. She’s walking through the woods with a heavy trunk of everything she owns. She wears a mask because we don’t want the future to see who she once was and she doesn’t want to be reminded about her past.
Finally she arrives in Moscow where she transforms into the wife of a Czar. She keeps the peasant outfit because she came from humble roots and now that her future is solidified, she doesn’t want to forget where she came from.
As she walks the stairs of her husband’s castle, she’s inquisitive and a bit cautious because change and power are scary. Finally in the grand ballroom, the queen now embraces her role and is thankful she took the opportunity she did, even if it was unpredictable at first.
Seize any opportunity and work it to the best of your ability, even through the hard times. Nothing in this world is easy, nothing is free either. You either pay by working hard for it or spend a lot of money paying for it.
